Group targets 1.5m votes for Oyebanji in Ekiti guber poll
The South West Independent Campaign Movement (SWICAM) says it is mobilising to secure 1.5 million votes for Biodun Oyebanji, governor of Ekiti, ahead of the state's forthcoming governorship election.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the group said the target is achievable through a non-partisan campaign strategy aimed at reaching voters across the 177 wards in the state.
The statement was signed by Suleiman Olubayo, national coordinator of the group, and Fred Ojinika, who represents Niger Delta and northern communities in the south-west, after its maiden congress in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti capital.
