In July 2010, Godlewski (then 27, a high school baseball coach in the Scranton, Pennsylvania area) was arrested and charged with statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, and related offenses stemming from an alleged ongoing sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl he met through coaching. Police affidavits and victim statements described sexual activity (including text messages admitting to it), gifts, and contact. He reportedly acknowledged the girl’s age in messages but continued. Be careful who you listen to online about who should or shouldn’t be role models.
