Saturday showed up again. Quietly. Like it always does. It’s time for what I like to call, the Sacred Pause.
The week's been long — maybe longer than most. The deadlines, the demands, the low-grade hum of everything unfinished. And somewhere in the middle of all that running, you forgot something important.
You forgot to stop.
Even the Creator rested. Let that settle in for a moment. The One who spoke galaxies into existence — set down the work. Not because He was tired. But because rest itself is holy. It always has been.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." — Matthew 11:28
This day is a bridge. Behind you, the weight of what was. Ahead, the mercy of what's coming. Right here, in the in-between — that's where your soul gets its breath back.
Rest isn't surrender. It's not laziness dressed up in a hammock. It's the hard-earned right of anyone who's been showing up, day after day, doing the best they knew how.
So give yourself permission today.
Let go of the list. Step away from the noise. Sit with someone you love, or just sit with the quiet — both are good medicine. Trust that the things you can't control are being handled by hands far more capable than yours.
You don't have to figure it all out today. You just have to be still long enough to remember — you are held.
Lord, thank You for this pause. Quiet the anxious places in me. Restore what the week has taken. And remind me, in the stillness, that You are already working. Amen.
