NEWS: Two Congolese nationals have been sentenced to life imprisonment for raping three women in April 2022 at Seoding Village in Taung. Musore Djosia (32) and Hasuamni Handre Saluma (36) were also convicted for staying in the country illegally. In the case of rape, the two falsely presented themselves as traditional healers and were invited to the victims' home by a family member to assist with alleged traditional and spiritual challenges being experienced by the family. The late Katlego “Moafrika”Moribe (38) 🕊️🕊️an attorney based in Kuruman Northern Cape, and the managing director of Moribe Attorneys. He was shot 9 times on the 1 June 2025 at Seoding Block A House. Reports following his death noted that Moribe had faced serious allegations regarding his legal practice. He was described by some as a “conman”and was allegedly struck off the roll of attorneys by the Legal Practice Council (LPC) due to misconduct and the alleged defrauding of clients' Road Accident Fund (RAF) payouts.

Police have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of a 38-year-old prominent attorney, Katlego Moribe, at Kuruman in the Northern Cape. The arrests follow collaboration between crime intelligence in the North West and Northern Cape. Moribe was shot and killed at Seoding in Kuruman on the first of June. The attorney was shot nine times and died on the scene. Northern Cape police spokesperson, Cherelle Ehlers says police discovered firearms and ammunition during the arrest. "Members of the Northern Cape crime intelligence, in conjunction with crime intelligence in the North West province, the Mahikeng tactical response team, and the Vryburg public order police, launched a coordinated, intelligence-driven operation in Ganyesa in the North West province. The operation took place between the evening of Monday, 23 June 2025, and the early hours of Tuesday, 24 June 2025. Three male suspects, aged 28, 32, and 33 respectively, were arrested. The team also recovered illegal firearms and ammunition in their possession. The suspects are expected to appear in court soon and the investigation remains," said Ehlers.

The operation took place between the evening of Monday, 23 June 2025, and the early hours of Tuesday, 24 June 2025. Three male suspects, aged 28, 32, and 33 respectively, were arrested. The team also recovered illegal firearms and ammunition in their possession. The suspects are expected to appear in court soon and the investigation remains ongoing.
