Did you know that even if a toxic exposure condition is already service-connected, additional health issues caused by that condition may also be eligible for VA compensation?
Many veterans are aware of toxic exposure claims under the PACT Act, but fewer realize that secondary conditions can develop as a result of those service-connected illnesses. Understanding the connection between your primary condition and any resulting complications could make a significant difference in your claim.
In this week's Medical Team Monday video, our team discusses:
✅ What secondary conditions are
✅ How toxic exposure-related illnesses can lead to additional disabilities
✅ Common examples of conditions that may be associated with toxic exposures
✅ Why understanding the full picture of your health matters
If you've been exposed to burn pits, airborne hazards, contaminated water, or other toxic substances during service, this information is important to know.
Watch the video and learn how secondary service connection may apply to your situation.

Today, we recognize #veterans with headache diseases.
Migraine is among the top 10 most common service-connected disability claims filed with the VA. And between 2007 and 2024, the VA diagnosed and treated more than 2,100,000 veterans for headache.
That is not a small number. That is millions of people who served and came home still fighting, just with a different kind of pain.
Current and former service members now have more treatment options than ever, from CGRP medications to neuromodulation devices covered by the VA. But awareness is still the first step.

• The listed low-income programs combined cost the federal government nearly 3.7 times more than VA Disability Compensation ($824.2 billion vs. $220.3 billion).
VA Disability Compensation maintains one of the lowest improper-payment rates in federal entitlements (1.95%).
The non-service programs collectively experience significantly higher error and improper-payment volumes (tens of billions annually), though most are administrative rather than intentional fraud.

Fellow veterans, families, and patriots — this is the cold hard truth in 2026:
The U.S. government is spending $824.2 BILLION this year on low-income welfare programs for people who never served, never sacrificed, and never wore the uniform:
• Low-income housing (Section 8, public housing): $66 billion
• SNAP/EBT food stamps: $95 billion
• WIC: $8.2 billion
• Reduced utilities (LIHEAP): $4 billion
• Free cellphones (Lifeline): $1 billion
• Free healthcare dental (Medicaid): $650 billion
Compare that to VA disability compensation — just $220.3 billion for 7 million veterans who EARNED it with real service-connected disabilities, including Parkinson’s from toxic exposures.
Nearly 4 TIMES more money for non-contributors than for the warriors who defended this country.
VA fraud is microscopic at 1.95%. The welfare side bleeds tens of billions in errors every year.
Now they’re slamming us with new rules that punish vets for taking prescribed meds and lower ratings we earned in uniform.
This is backwards as hell. Veterans come FIRST.

🧠 DAVID'S FIGHT: David McCracken returned from Baghdad with a persistent cough that became glioblastoma - the same brain cancer that affected Beau Biden. Both served at the same base during the same timeframe.
Coincidence? We think not.
