Here I am performing the scene “Am I Gay” with the talented young actor Javen Thomure at the Brian Cutler Actor Studio. In this piece, I portray a father who is shocked, angry, and in denial when confronted with his son’s revelation that he may be gay. Fully memorized and off book, the scene demanded a balance of intensity and vulnerability, capturing the raw conflict between parental expectations and a son’s search for acceptance. Javen’s authentic and heartfelt delivery gave the scene real weight, making every exchange feel charged and genuine. I am grateful we had the chance to bring this powerful story to life together.
