Rufai: “People always criticize you that your criticism of President Tinubu is quite shallow, and that you hardly provide solutions to what you would have done regarding the national situation, even on electricity where you claim you would target 10,000 megawatts if you become president.” Mr Peter Obi: “What people do is because I do not have the sophistication of the media and everything, somebody once said, ‘If I don't give you electricity, don't vote for me.’ Did they question him then on how he would do that? So why must my own be in the marketplace? The reason I am different is that what I promised as governor, I delivered.” — NDC presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi.
Rufai Oseni: “Arabambi said you took a lot of money from Labour Party donations during the last election, and he claims to have evidence.” Mr Peter Obi: “If the so-called Arabambi can provide evidence from any account showing that even 1 percent of what he alleged is missing, I will stop campaigning for the 2027 election. In fact, I may add him to the lawsuit so he can come to court and provide the evidence, just that he don't have address.”

As with most things that shallow modern culture treats as permanent aspects of the human condition, this is only true until it isn't. First, it might be the case within 5 years that everyone has all the general intelligence they might require, exceeding that of the smartest STEM majors today, in a small device in their pocket that costs only $20 a month. What then of entire ideologies and social hierarchies constructed around the supposed fundamental and unalterable differences in intelligence? Equally possible on a somewhat longer time scale, maybe AGI doesn't happen, but gene editing gets easy and genes associated with intelligence are IDed exhaustively, and the next generation is composed of uniform savants that bury present STEM people and AIs alike. Maybe only 25% of humanity can afford or chooses to use this technology, resulting in new human castes as stark in their differences as those in HG Wells' The Time Machine. Perfectly possible with near-future technology. Under either scenario, would anyone regard intelligence as something unalterable and fixed by ineluctable fate, compared to supposedly so malleable character? As for malleable character, try fixing everyone in rehab or out on skid row because their problems are "only" largely problems of character. What is my point? That people simply don't know these things, and certainly don't know where they might be headed. They confidently construct entire civilizational plans around utterly imaginable certainties in these matters. Which are built not even on sand, but on water.

Thanks for the wider context, which makes it more interesting (and sympathetic). Twitter is so shallow, I must stop commenting on literary gossip.

Ask ANYONE that has kept an aquarium...what happens when you leave the lights on too long? ALGAE!!! Shallow water, high temps, limited if any filtration, and LOTS of light will ALWAYS make algae. Only way to get rid of it is with filtration...LOTS of filtration...not blue paint

The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is huge, shallow, exposed, warm, full of sunlight, and vulnerable to circulation/water-line issues. That is a custom terrarium for algae. The people who built it wanted a mirror of democracy but accidentally built a smoothie for algae.

Shallow Gunther thinks banning men from wearing dresses will make his financial situation better. This is what we're dealing with folks.
Maybe you should spend some time questioning why I called out your shallow knowledge? The self-evaluation will serve you well as you project an obvious lack of industry expertise.
