The Iranian ayatollahs don’t want a deal. They want apocalypse From Reagan to Obama, the story has always been the same: Tehran strings Washington along - The Telegraph In order to strike an effective deal, you must understand the psychology of the enemy. So let’s look at the most recent evidence and work backwards. Over the past few days, Iran has shot down an American helicopter, attacked Kuwait’s international airport, menaced Hormuz with drones – several were downed on Saturday night – and launched missiles at Israel. Clearly, this is not the behaviour of an adversary that is desperate for peace. Tehran has also bound the interests of Hezbollah, its nihilistic proxy in Lebanon whose men use the Nazi salute, to its negotiations with Washington. We can only conclude that the regime continues to lust after the destabilisation of the region, the erasure of Israel and the collapse of the West. Meanwhile, Iran has been secretly sealing off its subterranean cache of highly enriched uranium. This will make securing the material, America’s main objective, immeasurably more difficult, even if an agreement is signed. To make matters worse, a stockpile of uranium enriched to 20 per cent is still in the country. Bringing it up to 60 per cent is far easier than the initial stages of enrichment, yet Iran has hidden that from the talks. Where could such enrichment take place? One candidate is Kuh-e Kolang Gaz-la, or “Pickaxe Mountain”, an ultra-secret nuclear site that is exceptionally deeply buried and heavily fortified. Iranian negotiators have likewise sidelined that facility. What could they possibly be planning in the long term? Moreover, Tehran has been using the ceasefire to feverishly rebuild its missile sites, launchers and military production capacities at a rate that has surprised Western intelligence agencies. (In the tit-for-tat violence last week, Israel largely targeted anti-aircraft batteries that mushroomed during the lull in hostilities.) Obviously, the regime remains rather keener on swords than ploughshares. Painted into a corner by his own incompetence, Donald Trump has left himself so desperate for a deal that he can no longer afford to acknowledge the truth. In his first term, he pulled out of Barack Obama’s nuclear agreement, which had given the enemy an infusion of billions of dollars of sanctions relief. Deprived of cash, many of Tehran’s proxies began to wither on the vine. Fast-forward to this week, and it emerged that the United Arab Emirates – the country that has suffered most from Iranian bombardment – had agreed to funnel up to $20bn into the regime’s coffers, with $3bn released already. That’s more than Britain’s Defence Investment Plan. What will Tehran use the money for? And who has the upper hand here? (The Emiratis have “categorically” denied it.) The regime has also been pulling the diplomatic levers. On Thursday, Qatari and Emirati leaders joined Pakistan’s defence chief in lobbying Trump not to hit Iran “VERY HARD TONIGHT”, as he had vowed on Truth Social. Within hours, that threat had followed many others – from “a whole civilisation will die tonight” to “you’re just going to have to look at one big glow coming out of Iran” – into the scrapbook of American weakness. We had thought Trump would be different. From Reagan to Obama, the story has always been the same: Tehran strings Washington along while advancing epochal plans for the demise of the Jews and the West. Now that Trump has messed up the military planning, eroding American deterrence and shattering alliances, we may end up back where we started, or worse. The regime has always had the same beliefs. Apocalyptic war against the West will cause a Messianic figure to emerge from invisibility and lead the Shia faithful to global domination in the endtimes. That remains its reality. You can’t do a deal with that.

⭕ David Grusch (former U.S. intelligence officer) — Recent interview/comments (June 13–14, 2026). “I did get access to crash retrieval photos and everything so I’ve seen the recovered vehicles… They were everything from flying discs to egg shape craft & every other morphology. They landed or crashed on the surface of the earth.” (He called it “the most earth shattering thing that changed my world view.”) @POTUS @timburchett @realannapaulina @EricBurlison #UFO
