3 years ago today I posted this. A lot has happened since. Revenue & Products: - UniqueSide reached $250K in revenue - Chrome extension xActions made $600, sold it - BoilerCode made $4.5K, No. 1 on ProductHunt, sold it - PagePe made $800, sold it - One Android app made $5K from ads and in-app purchases - BoringLead made $600, shut it down - UseArticle launched in 2024, $2.3K in revenue, still active - Launched a new product in March 2026, crossed $1.4K MRR - 8 iOS and Android apps live, $700 in revenue - Shut down: UseAI blog, GifVista, Vibewall, SimpleForms, WeeklyAPI, SaaSLiquidate, MemePe, BoringLead, and other unnamed apps. - Also launched DeadSubs and serpIQ (open source SEO CLI) Travel: Countries since 2023 - Malaysia, Singapore, UAE, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Macau, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Japan, Taiwan, China, New Zealand Twitter/X: 1K to 12K followers I was not new to building products. I'd been building since 2014 (when I was in college). Worked across big corps, AI startups, and early-stage companies before this. I had launched multiple products and apps, some reaching 5-10K users worldwide. I'd wanted to leave my job for a long time but kept holding back. In 2023 I just said fk it, what's the worst that can happen. Turns out it wasn't stupid after all.
Today I resigned from my job in Singapore. I will need to serve 2 months notice now. I know some might say it's a stupid decision but well maybe yeah. I will be starting a software development company (name and country TBD). I will also focus on building products that I want. I will also go wherever I want without needing permission for leaves. For 1 year I will try my best, And worst case scenario if nothing works then I will again to a full-time job and do this as a side hustle. wish me luck :) #buildinpublic

I failed 3 of my products (again) This year I planned not launch so many new products but to try to grow my existing products. But after a couple of months, I think it might be time to decide on the fate of 3 of my products. UseAI(.blog) - Content generator with AI -- reached to only $250 in revenue SimpleForms - Form Builder SaaS -- $0 revenue UseArticle(.com) - Blogging SaaS -- reached to only $137 in revenue I don't want to shutdown these products but after trying for many months I am not motivated to keep working on these. These 3 products have been a learning for me because for these 3 I followed the trend for these products. And I think I am not going to just follow the trend in launching new products. I have some other products/apps which are making some revenue and need to focus on those instead of spending time on the products where I am loosing motivation. This is a "failure realization" post for me. I have 3 options for these products - Shutdown these 3 products - Sell these to someone who might want to grow these. - Sell the codebase as White Label Last year I was rushing to launch things and did 12 products in 12 months but this year I am taking things in a realistic way so I don't end up shutting down my products again. This is the bad thing about launching multiple products because most of them will not work and it will be hard to sunset those products where you spent time and effort in making those a reality. Anyway, I have things to figure out about these. #buildinpublic

Every visitor to your landing page. Is like a first date. Judging whether they’ll swipe right on you. Your landing page is your first impression. Make it count. Or they’re swiping left. β–ͺ──── βš” ────β–ͺ Why This Matters Here’s the deal. Most web traffic comes from mobile devices. People are checking out your site. Not from the comfort of a desktop. But likely while juggling a coffee. Dodging pedestrians. Or yes. Even in the bathroom. If your landing page feels like it's designed for the golden age of dial up. You're not just losing potential clients. You're annoying them. β–ͺ──── βš” ────β–ͺ Problem Pointers Ever tried reading a novel on a postage stamp? Neither have I. But squinting at tiny text on a phone screen is close enough. Or. Ever tapped a button on a website only to open something completely different? Frustrating, right? That's your user's everyday when your page. Isn't up to scratch. β–ͺ──── βš” ────β–ͺ Let’s Fix It Here are some straightforward. Actionable steps. To turn your landing page from frustrating. To user friendly. Spoiler alert Listen to this advice. And you'll get a TON more clients. β–ͺ──── βš” ────β–ͺ Make It Responsive It’s 2024. And your page needs to look good on a phone. A tablet. Or whatever weird screen size will be invented next. Use flexible grids and layouts to keep everything looking sharp and accessible. No matter the device. β–ͺ──── βš” ────β–ͺ Speed It Up Waiting for a page to load is like watching paint dry. Compress images Leverage browser caching. Test your site’s speed. With tools like Google’s PageSpeed Insights. Remember. Faster is ALWAYS better. β–ͺ──── βš” ────β–ͺ Simplify, Simplify, Simplify Your landing page isn’t the place to show off every product or piece of info you have. Keep content brief and powerful. Make every word earn its place. β–ͺ──── βš” ────β–ͺ Thumb-Friendly Design Make buttons big enough to tap easily. Space them generously so fingers don’t tap the wrong target. As a rule of thumb. (pun intended) Design with the thumb in mind. β–ͺ──── βš” ────β–ͺ Optimize Forms Ever tried filling out a 20 field form on your phone? It’s a test of patience. Keep forms short. Ask only for essentials like name and email. β–ͺ──── βš” ────β–ͺ Test and Retest What works in theory doesn’t always work in practice. Use tools like BrowserStack. Or Google’s Mobile Friendly Test. To see how your page looks on different devices and under different conditions. Get feedback from real users too. What they find annoying will be a goldmine for improvements. β–ͺ──── βš” ────β–ͺ Follow Best Practices But Also Test New Ideas Learn from what others have done but don't be afraid to innovate. Try new layouts. Button placements. Or call to action copy. Always A/B test changes. To see what actually improves conversion rates. β–ͺ──── βš” ────β–ͺ Real life example Take SimpleForms. A startup that simplified its form. From 15 fields down to just 4 essential ones. Their conversion rate? Up by 25% within a month. Users appreciated the clarity. Making them more likely to complete sign ups. β–ͺ──── βš” ────β–ͺ Tools of the Trade Some tools that can help you ace this: Google’s PageSpeed Insights For checking your page load times. BrowserStack To test how your pages work across different devices. Optimizely A/B Testing Tool for experimenting with different page versions. To see what performs best. β–ͺ──── βš” ────β–ͺ You're still here? Absolute legend! If this post helped, consider: - Liking - Retweeting - Following me for more insane value. DM me if you need more help.
