GenX

What can I say about the '80s other than I absolutely loved them? I’m definitely Gen X, born in the '70s, and sometimes I find myself wishing I could go back.
It’s funny how, as kids, we couldn't wait to become adults. We dreamed about growing up, making our own decisions, and having all the freedom in the world. Now, years later, I catch myself longing for those simpler days.
I miss drinking water straight from the garden hose without a second thought. I miss spending all day outside with friends, riding bikes, exploring the neighborhood, and only heading home when the streetlights came on. I miss Saturday mornings sitting in front of the TV with a big bowl of cereal, watching cartoons and not having a care in the world.
Life seemed slower back then. We weren't glued to phones, social media didn't exist, and our biggest concern was whether our friends could come outside and play.
And don't even get me started on the music. In my opinion, the music from back then was just better. Every song seems tied to a memory, a moment, or a feeling that still brings a smile to my face.
Maybe every generation feels this way about the years they grew up in, but there was something special about the '80s. It wasn't perfect, but it was simple, and sometimes I think that's what I miss the most.
If you grew up in the '70s or '80s, what do you miss most about those days?
