Chiang's lasting contribution to modern nation-building is underestimated. He created an entire new province (Qinghai) to better control western regions and frontier and, in the north sinification and integration of inner mongolia also owes him a lot

I'm afraid that focusing on ideological unification, you have overlooked the basic common denominator. Ancient Greek thought was about humans and society. Marxism is an economic theory of society. Therefore, "sinification" doesn't unite ideologies but proves them obsolete.

I spoke of it very briefly at my book promotion yesterday in Paris--I think it is an important if somewhat speculative point. The Sinification of Marxism may, for the first time in history, create a unified Euro-Asian ideology that would bring together ancient Greek and ancient Chinese influences. Plato & Confucius through Marx. The ideological implications of China’s economic success Sinified Marxism and its future branko2f7.substack.com/p/the…

It's due to the new sinification directive but the whole reason for it was because after the Cultural Revolution, people no longer build in traditional Chinese architecture style. It wouldn't have been necessary if CR didn't destroy old Chinese styled mosques

My most leftist thought is that maybe any attempt of eugenics would merely result in sinification of the European population and a pure preservation of the ethnic substrate is a more important goal, as greatness arises within our people by random chance.

It doesn't have to be CCP China's official policy toward all smaller ethnically distinct nations on her periphery: Absorbtive Sinification is what's done, in Laos, Cambodia & Myanmar. Vietnam & Thailand are stronger against it, but juicy target$ too.

The #Kokang Chinese, which adopted sons of #China within Myanmar, have occupied some regions of #Myanmar & are destroying the original characteristics of indigenous ethnic to make those regions compliant with China's wishes. t.me/mekongnewsmm/45166?sing… #2026Apr29Coup

Imperialist POS. If hell exists I hope you rot in it. China is just as Imperialist as US & Russia. I guarantee you can’t even name at least 10 ethnic groups prior to imperialist sinification of Austroasiatic, Austronesian, Turkic, & Tibeto-burmese groups in China. Imperialist pig

Good points. Chinese language and culture never had an Alexander, either, implanting it securely over a huge and diverse area. There is "Hellenization", but not "Sinification".

Joseon Korea also took Confucianism-Sinification way too serious that they ended up turning the whole country into a agricultural slaves state. Ain't that right, @chukbaik ?

Viet dynasties took Confucianism-Sinification too seriously was why they didn't last long btw. Trần dynasty started going downhill when Emperor Anh Tông fled when his father tried to tattoo him so he wouldn't forget their Yue bravery martial roots.
China only truly forced Sino culture on Vietnam during the brief 20y Ming occupation, which was reversed. The Lý-Trần eras were still largely Baiyue. Confucianism was adopted voluntarily top down by Viet dynasties (Lê), or gradually influenced through peaceful migrant.

Oh Chris Puh-lees! Majority Han population has to put up with being described as “other/remainder” (其餘人口) even though we are 96 percent of the population. The problem in Taiwan is not we are not woke enough but the government is trying to erase the identity of 96 percent of its people through de-sinification. The DPP is trying to make us into an island of leftovers
