In our case, with end points 0 and 1, and slopes 1 and 0, we get this cubic Hermite: f(x) = x x^2 - x^3 Interpolating the normalized angle along this curve gets us these much more pleasant-looking teardrop shapes!

If only we had an interpolation method that looks linear around 0 degrees, and turns flat around 180! Luckily, there is a class of functions called Hermite splines that answer exactly this question: given two endpoints and two slopes, how do we draw a smooth curve between them?

Fascinating Weather Phenomena - Windiest Place On Earth Wind is something we're all familiar with. We also know that wind speeds can drastically change in a matter of moments. Have you ever wondered what the windiest place on Earth is? According to earth.com/news/10-windiest-p… both the Guinness Book of World Records and the National Geographic Atlas have declared Commonwealth Bay in Antarctica to be the windiest place on Earth. And for good reason. The yearly average wind speeds are around 50 mph (80 kph) with winds regularly reaching over 150 mph (240 kph). How does this happen? We have katabatic winds (high density air flowing down slopes) to thank for it. Due to the cold climate and sinking cool air, it's not unusual for winds to rush down the slope of the ice shelf before dropping off the cliff at the bay. Yeah so? It's still wrong. Borderline still means "within the law". Not a domain where you would want to embark on slippery slopes in.

Hitting the slopes in summer is crazy but alright i guess
On camera, Don Jr. pulls out a little baggie with white powder at his father's birthday party.

I figured the patch around it was root spread. Does a great job of holding the slope together. I was given some seeds, so I tried to get another patch started on the other side, but I think they may be hard to start from seed. And the two slopes have a bit diff soils, sun, etc
