My bag took a bit longer to arrive (15 mins) because it was a very busy time at the airport, but the two-stage Smartgate procedure took only a couple of minutes. Biggest improvement is in outbound security which was horrendous during the upgrade but is good now.

The much-maligned Smartgate system worked well at 6.50am today, which was a very busy time for international arrivals. Lots of new kiosks installed and through in a few mins. Still not sure why we need to have two stages, however. Went from the airbridge to home in 1 hour.
