It’s hard to put into words what an honour it has been to be the artist facilitator on Where We Are, which later grew into WHO WE ARE.
Over the past 10 months, I’ve had the joy & privilege of working with 15 incredible young people in Doncaster.
Together, we created a space that allowed us to be playful, reflective, bold, and honest. A space to explore identity, place, belonging, and the messy, magical journey of becoming ourselves.
This project was not just about making work.
It was about building real connection.
True friendships formed.
Confidence grew.
We laughed so much.
We shared food, made zines, clay models, collages, manifestos, took photos, told stories, and held space for each other in a way that felt radical and deeply human.
These young people brought their full selves to the process, and the result is something powerful, alive, and full of heart.
We are so lucky to have this stunning film by the most amazing Raj Madaan of
madaanmedia.net, who completely understood the assignment.
He captured the joy, THE ENERGY, movement, intimacy, and friendship that made this experience so special. The way has been able to hold the energy & spirit in the film is pure magic.
This is true co-creation/co-production.
This is care in action.
This is who we are.
I’m so proud to have been part of it.
