On Nov 13th, there was a solar particle event that resulted in beautiful blankets of aurora. You may have seen it. We had the most amazing view and our crew collectively took thousands of photos and dozens of time lapses. Here is one of those time lapses. Nov 13th. Nikon Z9 | 14mm.

ESA simulated a Carrington-level solar storm and found no satellite would survive. The "triple strike"—X-class flare, high-energy particles, and CME—disrupted comms in 8 minutes, damaged electronics, and boosted atmospheric drag 400% after 15 hours, deorbiting satellites. On Earth, it would overload power grids. ESA plans the 2031 Vigil mission at L5 for early warnings. Scientists say it's not if, but when.

Flaring has dropped and I spy what could be a small coronal hole forming near the solar cap.

Für diejenigen, die es interessiert:
Die Temperaturabweichung zwischen Solarminimum und Solarmaximum beim gewöhnlichen Sonnenzyklus (also jene der letzten Jahrzehnte ) beträgt ~ 0.1K hat also keinen nennenswerten Einfluss auf die Temperaturanomalien einzelner Jahre.
