We recently welcomed Betty Kibaara, Director of Food Programs at
@rockefellerfdn , to Solid’Africa’s Bujyujyu School Feeding Kitchen and Kitchen Gardens in Rwamagana District, supporting school feeding for nearby schools, including GS Bujyujyu.
The visit highlighted the power of linking local agriculture to nutrition. Through our school feeding programme, implemented in partnership with the Government of Rwanda and supported by The Rockefeller Foundation, 29,000 students receive nutritious daily meals sourced from local farmers.
The impact goes beyond the classroom. While children enjoy healthier meals that support learning and wellbeing, farmers benefit from reliable markets, predictable demand, and stronger livelihoods, creating sustainable local food systems that serve entire communities.
