Yes, same as the English county of Devon (Gods county), which was the Mayflowers last port of call for passengers at Dartmouth. It wasnโt suppose to stop at nearby Plymouth but the accompanying Speedwell kept taking in water and was eventually unable to sail.
Devonโs northern Atlantic beaches and dunes are almost identical to Cape Codโs as they were also once joined and whose towns are named after Devonโs such as Barnstable, spelt Barnstaple here in England but was spelt both ways in the 1600s.
