Catalpa flowers bloom, resplendent as brocade! Recently, along both sides of Huaihe Road in Liaocheng High-tech Zone, tall catalpa trees are covered in pale purple blossoms. When the breeze blows, the faint, sweet fragrance refreshes the mind and soul, adding a unique touch of romance and poetry to the spring scenery of this "Water City".
Known as the "King of Woods" and "Monarch of Hundred Trees", the catalpa is a rare and precious timber and ornamental tree species native to China, with a cultivation history of over 3,000 years. Its most striking feature is its tall stature adorned with clusters of brilliant flowers. Every April during its full bloom, layers of pale purple blossoms burst forth from the lofty branches, set off by fresh green leaves—elegant, noble, and refreshingly unadorned.
