Fire Crews from Springbourne, Westbourne & Christchurch are currently dealing with a fire involving internal wall cladding in Boscombe. They have a 10.5 meter ladder, 1 hose reel jet and cutting away tools in use. 🚒🪜🫧

Good afternoon from Red Watch, our crew down in #Springbourne have just returned from a false alarm due to cooking 🔥🚒

On this day in 1940, a man was killed after cutting into a sea mine with an oxy-acetylene torch at Powell's Scrap Yard in Victoria Road, Springbourne, Bournemouth. The mine had washed up on Mudeford beach in 1917, and eventually ended up in the yard for recycling.

DW Fire tells us: “We were called to the A338 southbound at 1.34pm today (17 August) for a car fire that had spread to an area of adjacent heath. Due to the conditions, the fire has now spread to two areas of heath off the northbound carriageway. We have crews on scene from Springbourne, Wareham, Lymington, Christchurch, Poole, Redhill Park and Ferndown, together with water carriers from Ringwood and Poole. Dorset Police have closed both carriageways while firefighters tackle the blaze.”

Our area could be stronger with a neighbourhood plan which gives East Cliff and Springbourne the opportunities to get ahead.
