#SpringsteenRanked 1. Thunder Road — Born To Run. It was always going to be this. The intimacy and the epic of Bruce rolled into one. Making the journey from front porch to front seat feel like the biggest decision someone could make. You just need faith.

#SpringsteenRanked 4. 4th Of July, Asbury Park (Sandy) — The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle. Poetic this is 4th? Also my favorite example of early Bruce poetic storytelling. You can feel the characters and energy of the boardwalk.

Top Five Time!! #SpringsteenRanked 5. Jungleland — Born To Run. Bruce's biggest epic. Suki's violin and Roy's piano intro is a great set-up but this is all about Clarence's finest moment to me. Wrap it all up with the best Bruce wails to close it out.

#SpringsteenRanked 25. Darkness On The Edge Of Town — Darkness On The Edge Of Town. All the fury from Bruce's year-long legal battle with Mike Appel spilled over into this album. The title track closes out the whole album with a resounding resignation.

#SpringsteenRanked 26. The Ghost Of Tom Joad — The Ghost Of Tom Joad. Highest ranked off this album is the title track. It felt timeless when it was released, but even more so now given the state of poverty and homelessness this country is facing.

#SpringsteenRanked 27. Streets of Philadelphia — Greatest Hits. One of Bruce's most awarded. An Oscar and 4 Grammys. Written at the request of director Jonathan Demme. The first person POV is paired so perfectly with Tom Hanks Oscar winning performance.

#SpringsteenRanked 93. Nothing Man — The Rising. A dark song Bruce wrote in the 90's that took on an even more dismal tone after the context of 9/11. Don't mistake the hope-tinged doo doo doo's, this guy is barely holding on day by day.

#SpringsteenRanked 146. Frankie — Tracks. After Born to Run, Bruce was evaluating the direction for his next album. This was written then, but Darkness was becoming too bleak. There was consideration for it appearing on BITUSA but it never took.
