As part of our Year 2 pupil voice the children wanted to know how parachutes worked. We measured out, cut & made parachutes of lots of different materials. We then experimented to find out how they worked and which worked the best. #StHelensScienceWeek

Year 2 had a wonderful time making balloon rockets 🚀 to help us visit Mars for our #STEM22 #StHelensScienceWeek.

Yr2 Looked at real life photos & tried to match them to STEM roles. This was tricky as the children already had an idea about what an astronaut or nurse etc should looks like. They were surprised at the reality.#smashingstereotype #anyonecandoanything #StHelensScienceWeek

Year 2 had a wonderful time being creative in our St. Helens Science week. #STEM22. One of our tasks was called Surviving on Mars. They design and create creatures that could survive on Mars. The children’s ideas were superb! #StHelensScienceWeek

Year 5 had a great day making Roman gromas for land surveying and marking straight lines. We made a racetrack just right for chariot racing! #sthelensscienceweek
