Electricity supply was restored in Meadowlands Zones 6, 8, 9 and 10. Subsequently, a further fault occurred resulting in another outage affecting the same customers. A test van is on site identifying the location of the new fault. The estimated time of restoration is not available at present, however, we will continue providing updates as work progresses.

#EskomGauteng #SowetoOutage #StatusUpdate Assessments on the failed transformer at the Moroka Main Substation have been concluded. Our technicians are currently carrying out repairs to restore the transformer to service. To maintain electricity supply to affected areas while repairs are underway, load rotation will continue to be implemented. This measure remains necessary to prevent overloading and to ensure continuity of supply. Based on the current repair plan, we anticipate that all work will be completed and load rotation will be suspended by 23:30 on Sunday, 07 June 2026. Herewith is an updated load rotation schedule, which will remain in effect until the completion of the repair work.
