A Sequential Circuits Prophet-5 synthesizer (serial #1000-6055), stage-used and studio-used by Greg Hawkes of The Cars, with documented use circa 1982–1984. Confirmed by Hawkes in his own video testimony as one of his primary instruments throughout The Cars’ recording and touring career. Hawkes specifically identifies the Prophet-5 as the source of the oscillator-sync lead on “Let’s Go” (Candy-O, 1979) and confirms this specific synthesizer was used on the Shake It Up and Heartbeat City albums and their associated tours. An ARP Omni MK-1 synthesizer (Model 2483, serial #24831406, manufactured circa 1977) owned, stage-used and studio-used by Greg Hawkes of The Cars from the band’s debut through the Shake It Up era (1978–1982) — confirmed by Hawkes in his own video testimony as his instrument for the first four Cars tours. The instrument retains the original and final Shake It Up tour setlist taped to its top panel, white chalk stage-position marks on every control, and Hawkes’ signature in white marker.

Lot 83. Billy Idol | Steve Stevens Custom-Made Stage-Played & Recording-Used Rebel Yell Pedalboard (1983-87)
A custom made pedalboard personally built by Steve Stevens and used to record the Rebel Yell album (1983) and throughout Billy Idol’s touring activity from 1983 to 1987 — one of the most documented and storied guitar effects rigs in 1980s rock history. The board is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity from Steve Stevens and is documented in Stevens’ own public statements, in his BOSS Lifetime Achievement Award citation, and in contemporary press coverage. It is photo-matched to Billy Idol’s January 28, 1984 appearance on Saturday Night Live and screen-matched to the MTV New Year’s Rock N’ Roll Ball performance of December 31, 1983.

Lot 79. Duran Duran / UB40 | Highbury Studios Prokit 62 Mixing Desk – “Rio” Era Recordings (early 1980s)
A Prokit 62 (also known as Pro-Kit 62 or Seck 62) six-channel / two-bus analog mixing desk used at Bob Lamb’s Highbury Studios, Birmingham during recording sessions that produced “Rio” and “Girls on Film” by Duran Duran and Signing Off — the debut album by UB40. A British-made compact console manufactured circa 1978-1979 and sold by Turnkey and REW Audio in the UK, it was among the most popular workhorse desks for small studios and demo recording in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The desk was consigned directly to auction by the owner of Highbury Studios and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from Tracks Ltd.
