Amathole District Municipality (ADM) convened its District Mayors Forum (DIMAFO) on 11 June 2026 in Stutterheim, Kolorha. The meeting brought together Executive Mayors, Mayors, Municipal Managers, government departments, external stakeholders, and key sector representatives to strengthen intergovernmental relations and advance collaborative service delivery initiatives across the district.
Opening the session, ADM Executive Mayor, Councillor Anele Ntsangani, reaffirmed the municipality's commitment to enhancing partnerships with government sectors and stakeholders to ensure sustainable, community-driven service delivery. He emphasised the importance of coordinated efforts in addressing challenges facing the district and its six local municipalities while driving development initiatives that improve the lives of ADM communities.
In his opening remarks, Councillor Ntsangani acknowledged the challenges experienced by both the district and local municipalities but highlighted that the pursuit of service delivery excellence remains a key priority. He further noted the municipality's improving financial position and celebrated the significant milestone of the institution approving a funded budget for the forthcoming financial year.
"This is a year of solving challenges to ensure continuous stability and an operational district municipality," said Ntsangani.
The Executive Mayor further stressed the importance of having a positive and solution-oriented approach among government institutions and stakeholders. He called for the dismantling of negative attitudes that hinder progress and encouraged all role players to embrace collaboration as a catalyst for meaningful development.
