There are 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬, and I’m humbled by mine. Today, as I placed my books and the magazine I graced the cover of onto my new bookshelf, 𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑙𝑜𝑜𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑝𝑖𝑐𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑞𝑢𝑒 𝐷𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑠 𝑠𝑘𝑦𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑒, I paused and reflected on the journey. I’ve earned military awards across the world, 𝑐𝑢𝑟𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑙𝑦 𝑜𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠ℎ𝑒𝑙𝑓, from Wright-Patterson to Ramstein, from 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐌𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫. Those experiences shaped me and will always matter. But this shelf represents another chapter. From 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐥 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐞 𝟒, it reflects a life built with intention beyond rank or title. This is 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐦. This is 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞. It’s why I 𝐛𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐝, 𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐝, 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐝, and 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 long before the results were visible. So I can remind you— disciplined choices create different futures. Come join me.
