This space is critical to our operations. Last year alone, our teams supported 19,000 interactions with unhoused Calgarians and helped avert over $500,000 in emergency service costs. In 2018, I built a small but mighty team called Business and Local Economy in City Administration. We were the team who started the #SupportLocalYYC campaign, literally brought patios to the streets, and cut red tape so businesses could survive. But in 2021, I realized that to continue to make real change, I needed to step outside Administration. I quit my job after 20 years, took a leap of faith, and ran for #yyccc. Hard work got me here. And knowing that I'm making a difference for Calgarians is what keeps me going.
