INTER-PLATOON SPORTS COMPETITION KICKS OFF AT AMADA ORIENTATION CAMP
The Inter-Platoon Sports Competition, one of the programmes organized by the NYSC Gombe State Orientation Camp to foster unity, teamwork, and healthy competition among Corps Members, commenced today at the Amada Orientation Camp.
The opening football match was played between Platoon 1 and Platoon 4. The encounter began on an exciting note, with Platoon 4 taking the lead in the first half and ending the half 1–0 ahead.
The second half saw a determined response from Platoon 1, who scored the equalizing goal to level the match at 1–1. With both teams unable to find a winner during regulation time, the match proceeded to a penalty shootout.
At the end of the penalties, Platoon 1 emerged victorious with a 5–4 win over Platoon 4.
In the female volleyball event, Platoon 3 secured a convincing victory over Platoon 9. Platoon 3 won the match with two sets to nil, demonstrating excellent teamwork and coordination throughout the game.
The competition is expected to continue with more exciting fixtures as Corps Members participate in various sporting activities aimed at promoting unity and camaraderie within the camp.
Both matches were declared open by the State Coordinator NYSC Gombe, Chinwe Nnenna Nwachuku.
