NYSC IMO PROSPECTIVE CORPS MEMBERS ENLIGHTENED ON RELOCATION PROCEDURES The Head Deployment and Relocation NYSC Imo State, Mrs Lizzy Opara-Morgan, in a lecture enlightened the 2026 Batch B Stream l Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) on the Scheme's Relocation and Deployment procedures. She informed them that the redeployment to another State aside the initial deployment can only be considered on marital for female PCMs and health grounds. She further told the Corps that they can apply online through their official dashboard, attaching the supporting documents to their claims for relocation. Mrs Opara-Morgan equally informed them that the approval of the relocation request is at the discretion of the NYSC Director General.

AWOLOLA BRIEFS 2026 BATCH ‘B’ STREAM I PROSPECTIVE CORPS MEMBERS ON DISCIPLINE, UNITY AND ACTIVE PARTICIPATION The Enugu State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs. Oluwakemi Awolola, has charged Prospective Corps Members of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Orientation Course to embrace discipline, unity, patriotism and active participation as essential ingredients for a successful Orientation Course and service year. Mrs. Awolola gave the charge during a comprehensive briefing session held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Awgu, where she acquainted the Prospective Corps Members with the objectives of the Scheme, camp administration, welfare services, security arrangements, Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED), healthcare provisions, and other critical aspects of the Orientation Course. Welcoming the Prospective Corps Members on behalf of the Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, the State Coordinator congratulated them on the successful completion of their academic programmes and subsequent mobilization for national service. She noted that the NYSC Scheme was established to promote national unity, integration, and development, urging them to see the service year as an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to nation-building. She described the three-week Orientation Course as a transformative programme designed to equip participants with the values, knowledge, and skills required for a rewarding service year. She therefore encouraged them to participate fully in all camp activities and conduct themselves in accordance with the rules and regulations governing the Scheme. Speaking on ongoing infrastructural improvements within the camp, Mrs. Awolola disclosed that several renovation projects are being undertaken with the support of the Enugu State Government under the leadership of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah. She commended the government's commitment to youth development and advised the Prospective Corps Members to observe all safety measures around designated construction areas. The State Coordinator further enlightened the Prospective Corps Members on the four cardinal programmes of the NYSC Scheme. She explained that the Orientation Course serves as the foundation of national service and comprises drills, lectures, SAED training, sports, and other structured activities. She noted that participants would subsequently proceed to their Places of Primary Assignment (PPA), where they would render services in line with national needs and their respective qualifications. She also highlighted Community Development Service (CDS) as a vital component of the Scheme, encouraging the Prospective Corps Members to identify and address developmental needs within their host communities through impactful projects and initiatives. She explained that the Winding-Up and Passing-Out phase marks the successful completion of the service year. On camp administration, Mrs. Awolola outlined the leadership and committee structures established to ensure the smooth management of camp activities. She informed the Prospective Corps Members about the roles of Camp Officials, Platoon Officers, and Camp Directors in facilitating effective communication and addressing welfare concerns. The State Coordinator reminded them that lecture sessions had commenced and stressed that attendance at all official activities was compulsory. She urged them to pay close attention to the various presentations, as they contain vital information necessary for a successful Orientation Course and service year. Addressing issues relating to dress code, accommodation, and sanitation, she directed participants to wear approved NYSC uniforms at all times and maintain high standards of cleanliness within the hostels and camp environment. She also encouraged the proper use of sanitation facilities and adherence to environmental hygiene practices.

NYSC IMO INAUGURATES CORPS CAMP DIRECTORS, PLATOON LEADERS AND OTHERS - As State Coordinator Urges them to be team players The NYSC Imo State Management in its inauguration of the 2026 Batch B Stream l Corps Camp Directors, Platoon Leaders, Sanitation Vanguards and Hostel Governors has charged the leaders to be team players by diplomatically carrying their colleagues along in the discharge of their duties. The State Coordinator Mrs Doris Erumwunse while addressing the Corps at Ezaima Obaire Camp, urged the members to see their appointments as a rare privilege to humbly serve humanity. "As leaders, you are to take responsibility for every action and ensure that you do the very best in authority entrusted on you" - the State Coordinator. Mrs Doris Erumwunse equally encouraged the PCMs to give maximum cooperation to their leaders who are representing the concerns of every PCM undergoing the orientation course. The newly appointed Corps Camp Directors who are members of the highest level of the administrative committee, include : 1. Owolabi Akeem Idowu. IM/26B/0033 2. , Diamond Faith Julieth IM/26B/0046 3. Babawale Olugbenga IM/26B/0580. The State Coordinator further advised the Corps Camp Directors to promptly give feedback to the Management while disseminating the decisions/ information from the Management to their colleagues. The Platoon Leaders, Sanitation Vanguard and Hostel Governors were urged to discharge their duties diligently in order to attain a hitch-free orientation course.

PASSION, POWER, AND TEAM SPIRIT TAKE OVER DAZIGAU The spirit of sportsmanship came alive at the Dazigau Orientation Camp, Nangere Local Government Area of Yobe State, as sporting activities for the 2026 Batch B Stream I Orientation Course officially commenced, bringing excitement, teamwork, and healthy competition among corps members. Declaring the games open, the State Coordinator, Mr. Okochi Okpara, emphasized the importance of balancing academics and recreation, stating: “Too much reading without play makes Jack a dull boy.” He encouraged corps members to actively participate in sporting activities as a means of promoting fitness, unity, and social interaction throughout the orientation exercise. The football competition kicked off with an exciting encounter between Platoon 8 and Platoon 10, ending in a goalless draw. In the volleyball match, Platoon 6 displayed an impressive performance, defeating Platoon 4 by 25–12 and 25–11 in straight sets, marking an energetic beginning to the camp sporting activities.

ZAMFARA COORDINATOR BRIEFS CORPS MEMBERS The State Coordinator, NYSC Zamfara State, has charged the 2026 Batch B Stream I Corps Members to actively participate in all activities of the Orientation Course to ensure a rewarding and successful service year. The Coordinator gave the charge while briefing the Corps Members today at the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp, Gusau. Mallam Ahmed underscored the importance of the Orientation Course as the foundation for a successful service year. He took the Corps Members through a brief history of the NYSC, the rules and regulations governing the camp, as well as the expectations of management from them. He assured the Corps Members that adequate arrangements had been put in place by the management to ensure a memorable camp experience. The Coordinator also advised them to always follow the appropriate channels of communication whenever they encounter challenges or require clarification on any issue. He further encouraged the Corps Members to make responsible use of social media and engage in positive social interactions. A major highlight of the programme was the introduction of Principal Camp Officials to the Corps Members, followed by an interactive question-and-answer session.

Brooms, Unity, and Purpose: Dazigau Rises for a Cleaner Camp The spirit of teamwork and collective responsibility came alive at the Dazigau Orientation Camp, Nangere Local Government Area of Yobe State, as NYSC Yobe State, camp officials, corps members, and collaborating agencies joined hands in a camp-wide sanitation exercise for the 2026 Batch B Stream I Orientation Course. The sanitation exercise witnessed active participation from all camp officials and members of collaborating agencies, as participants worked together to keep the camp environment clean, healthy, and conducive for all. The exercise reflected unity, commitment, and a shared determination to maintain a hygienic camp atmosphere. Addressing participants during the exercise, the State Coordinator, Mr. Okochi Okpara, emphasized the importance of environmental cleanliness, stating: “Cleanliness is next to Godliness. Everyone, including myself, will participate to show how important it is to keep your environment clean.” The exercise ended successfully with renewed commitment from all stakeholders towards sustaining a neat and healthy camp environment.

POSTPONEMENT OF THE 2026 BATCH 'B' STREAM I ORIENTATION COURSE IN NIGER STATE The Management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) wishes to inform Prospective Corps Members deployed to Niger State for the 2026 Batch 'B' Stream I Service Year that their Orientation Course has been postponed until a later date. This decision has become necessary due to the ongoing renovation of the NYSC Orientation Camp in Paiko, Niger State, being undertaken by the Niger State Government following the extensive damage caused by a recent windstorm. Consequently, NYSC Management is making urgent arrangements to secure an alternative venue for the Orientation Course. A new commencement date and other relevant details will be communicated to affected Prospective Corps Members in due course. Management sincerely regrets any inconvenience this postponement may cause to the Prospective Corps Members and their families and appreciates their understanding and cooperation. Thank you.
