I debated sharing this email, but it felt good to see something that so many of us in the trucking community went in front of the TLTF and put in our testimonies to try to get some momentum on this.
And here we are.. I pray we see action on this legislation. This will further help @SecDuffy fight against fraud.

In 2024 several of us drivers attended MATS and spoke directly to the @FMCSA Truck Leasing Task Force.
There was significant testimony that lead to the TLTF submitting some serious recommendations.
My state representatives refuse to acknowledge chameleon carriers or predatory leasing practices as a problem. What you will discover, upon a full blown investigation of predatory leasing practices is that it is tied to ๐๐ปTHIS kind of behavior.
Please review the Truck Leasing Task Forces recommendations.
It all tied in to chameleon carriers and non domiciled CDL holders.

I have the STUPIDEST ideaโฆ or maybe itโs brilliant?
With the TLTF sending the recommendations to put a stop to LP..
What if they CONFISCATED those trucks, and gave them to the drivers currently IN an LP scenario?
No more LP, and all those trucks are taken care of.
(But demand the hole cutouts be covered back up in the floors)
(And demand that they be given a thorough inspection/repair/overhaul because Iโve seen some of these trucks at inspection stations.. yikes.. all at the former carrier/driver/owners expense)
(Also not me trying to score a free truck ๐)
