Many people are hesitant to report. What is TPWD doing? I know USDA and TAHC are underwater - I’ve heard they are all conspiring to hold back the trap data until they can “show” a decline in detections because of Sterile Fly drops. But reality is they are much more widespread.

Not just Florida—Texas waterways are getting the same herbicide treatments for invasive aquatic plants. TPWD and local authorities approve and oversee spraying in lakes and rivers statewide. My plan reforms TPWD with a Landowner Protection Task Force of real ranchers and farmers (not Austin insiders) to review spraying, prioritize non-chemical alternatives where possible, boost transparency, and protect our waters—tying into broader water freedom and rural resilience under the Texas Freedom Act.
🚨 Florida’s waterways are being sprayed with herbicides by government agencies, including FWC, and many voters have serious questions. This is exactly the kind of issue that should have been discussed in a Republican primary debate. Instead, @EvanPower and the @FloridaGOP changed the rules and canceled debates. What are they afraid of? 🎥 Watch the video below, and tag the Florida governor candidate you support in the comments. Let’s see who is willing to address this issue.

These photos show one of the main tools being used to stop New World screwworm. The green pupae are sterile flies before they emerge. The other photos show a ground release unit used by @USDA to distribute those flies in infested zones. Why sterile flies? Female New World screwworm flies only mate once. When they mate with a sterile male, the eggs do not hatch. Repeated releases reduce the population and help eliminate the pest. Each ground release unit holds about 80,000 flies and is refilled every other day. As the flies emerge, they disperse into the surrounding area in search of females. Sterile flies are also being released by air. So far this month, USDA has released more than 19.5 million sterile flies (via air and ground) as part of the effort to contain and eradicate New World screwworm. See where sterile flies are being released: txfb.us/NWSCurrentStatusPage Reporting suspected infestations is critical. Confirmed cases help officials target surveillance and evaluate where sterile fly releases are needed most. Livestock & Pets: Call TAHC at 1-800-550-8242 Wildlife: Call TPWD at 512-389-4505

I don't fuck with regular TPWD (I like my guns and truck), never mind the tac team.

Also interesting is despite the most intensively managed wildlife population in the world, TPWD is silent on detecting anything.

There are people that say this is too much kit, too militarized for TPWD. Those people have not seen what I’ve seen on hunting ranches near the border. Give the boys all the things.

Black bears, in particular, are very dangerous and known man killers. The King does not own the wild animals in America. As a result, state level endangered species laws are dangerous, violate the compact with Americans, violate pre existing immutable Texas land law rights and should be declared void as against public policy. If kooks in TPWD want to own bears then do so only on state owned land and nowhere else. The right lawyers haven't yet properly addressed this unlawful return to long ago rejected Feudal Law. @wesvirdelltx @TheAKGuy @smithfortx @yearlins @CarlTepper @TexasFarmBureau @ASL_Liberty @NCLAlegal @CJGRISHAM

Yesterday, a TPWD wildlife veterinarian provided training to Texas Game Wardens to support our federal, state and local partners on the frontlines of the New World Screwworm fight. Early detection is key. If you see live animals with maggots, report it at tpwd.texas.gov/screwworm
