Living with fibromyalgia means learning how to manage both the physical and mental battles it brings. For me, the pain often settles in my shoulders, and when flare-ups hit, whether from stress or eating the wrong thing, it feels like my whole body is on fire or being shocked from the inside out as my nerves rage. Headaches can strike without warning, and the exhaustion can be overwhelming. But even through all of this, I remind myself to keep my chin up and push forward. There’s no cure for fibro, only management. That’s why I’ve been focused on a cleaner diet, which has not only helped reduce flare-ups but also brought the added gift of weight loss. Now I’m adding the gym into my routine because movement is so important with fibromyalgia, it helps keep the body going, even when it wants to shut down. It’s not easy, but I choose to keep showing up for myself every single day.
