Really like this thread - hits on a lot of thoughts that've been brewing in my head the last year:
- optimizing All The Things is impossible (how do you optimize friendship?), everything is a trade-off and it's ok to prioritize diff things in diff seasons
- identity >> habits (implementation details will always change, you can feel good checking off those taskboxes but lose sight of the spirit)
- keep a "win log" at work/life, not just a list of things you did that day (good for self-performance reviews later too!)
- authenticity is an overused word: instead of "be yourself", "CHOOSE yourself" (you already are every day!)
People under-appreciate how attitude affects how you approach yourself, your work, and your life.
Attitude is the basis for the alter ego effect from my book.
An alter ego is about bringing a different attitude to how you do something.
It's just anchored to a concept you love.
