We are pleased to introduce the first panel of the second day of the #TaskEurope 2026 conference. How can Europe create conditions that allow its innovative companies not only to emerge, but also scale up and remain in the European market? This question will be at the centre of the fishbowl discussion on building a realistic European scale-up strategy for digital SMEs. While Europe continues to generate strong start-up activity and talent, scaling remains a persistent challenge. Companies are still required to navigate fragmented legal systems, face increasing compliance costs as they grow, and often look beyond the EU for access to capital and larger markets. The discussion will focus on key areas where progress has long been limited, including the potential of regulatory simplification, the role of the Savings and Investment Union in strengthening capital markets, and the practical implications of the proposed 28th regulatory regime. 🎙️ Speakers include Heleen Bakker (Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Netherlands), Alexandr Hobza (European Commission), David Müller (Ministry of Industry and Trade, Czechia), Christophe de Nijs (Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Belgium), and Monika Vrbková (JIC). 🎤 Moderated by Filip Křenek (EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy). České firmy těží z členství v EU hlavně díky možnosti obchodovat na společném unijním trhu. V návaznosti na včerejší projev @prezidentpavel jsem na konferenci Evropa jako úkol @taskeurope ocenil české aktivity, které směřují k odbourávání překážek. Prosperita jako úkol.

Young leaders at Europe Fit for the Future Fishbowl reminded us that political participation is not just about motivation — it also requires access to information, resources, and a supportive environment. ▶️ They called for paid internships, better outreach in schools, and equal access to opportunities. 💬 "I am not optimistic about the EU’s future because I believe the system is flawless. Dan O’Brien (@danobrien20): "The EU shouldn’t mirror U.S. tariffs. It should focus on electoral districts to shift the Republican stance. Tariffs hurt everyone, and we must not underestimate the EU’s economic strength and global attractiveness." #TaskEurope

Delivering the message—‘we’re raising defense spending’—can help keep U.S. attention. EU must overcome fragmentation and treat Trump’s rise not as a glitch, but a signal." #TaskEurope

Andreas Reckeweg Godfrey: “Europe has made long-delayed decisions, but now we need mindset change and more coordination. We must be ready for unforeseen crises. Industrial cooperation must stay pragmatic, and flexibility matters, especially when supporting Ukraine. Leasing, not just buying, should be considered." #TaskEurope

Islamizovaná Británie je ztracená. Vláda přenechala muslimům zem bez boje. Britští politici se starají o Ukrajinu, ale svou zem přenechali muslimům.

Druhý den konference @TaskEurope dnes pokračuje v Černínském paláci. Úvodní projev pronesl ministr @JanLipavsky - zdůraznil potřebu jednat: chránit bezpečnost, posílit konkurenceschopnost a globální roli EU. #EuropeAsATask
