In 2014, we became the National LGBTQ Task Force! Despite the fact that trans activists played monumental roles in our community’s biggest battles, too often, the queer movement ignores the voices of trans and nonbinary folks. #TaskForceAt50

We partnered with @TransEquality to release the first ever National Transgender Discrimination Survey. It was the largest study of its kind at the time & a game changer for our policy work. #TaskForceAt50

In 1996, we kicked off the Equality Begins at Home campaign, a nationwide initiative for LGBTQ rights at the state level. #TaskForceAt50

More than 200,000 people attended the March to protest government inaction on the AIDS crisis and the Bowers v. Hardwick #SCOTUS decision that upheld Georgia's sodomy laws.#TaskForceAt50

Our move from NY to DC signified that political activism is a core part of our activism. That year, we secured federal funding for community-based AIDS service organizations – the first time since the start of the crisis. #TaskForceAt50

During the AIDS epidemic, we played a pivotal role in demanding federal action. ED Ginny Apuzzo founded the AIDS Action Council, the country's first advocacy org focusing on public policy and funding for AIDS research. #TaskForceAt50
