The road was pure chaos last Sunday, April 26th 2026. Just a light drizzle, yet it felt like something was pushing trucks off the highway.
Four serious accidents before we even got far. We were heading from Agege to Oke-Afa Lagos Nigeria for our Meeting and Anniversary when one of the Church buses got hit. We had to stop and pick up some of our Clergy wives. Thank God nobody was injured, just the bus… but the sight of that shattered glass hit me like a flashback.
It instantly took me back to that 2016 Lagos-to-Benin journey where I reluctantly swapped seats with my cousin minutes before departure. An iron bar from a passing truck flew in and shattered the exact window where I was supposed to sit. Glass everywhere. Her wig took most of the impact. We both ended up in the hospital, but we survived. She still carries a scar, but she’s thriving today. That experience taught me: every journey deserves thanksgiving, not just after narrow escapes.
Don’t wait to be saved from danger before you appreciate God. Thank Him for life. For free oxygen. For waking up healthy, because some people are paying heavily just to breathe in the hospital.
So tell me…
What are you thankful to God for today?
What’s that testimony you’ve been carrying that needs to be shared for His glory?
It’s a new day. New mercies. New reasons to praise.

🚨A journey that would have been my last day.
It was a morning filled with excitement as we wake up early in the morning 4:00 am, preparing to embark on a journey.
We prepared our food and packed it with drinks. Boxes packed and ready to set off to the park by 4:45 am.
The idea was to arrive early, join the first bus and sit at a favourite spot. Which was what happened. But few minutes before the driver closed the door, my cousin requested I changed my position. Feeling 😢 sad! I reluctantly changed my fav spot.
Journey started at 5:50 am from Lagos to Benin. Prayer was said and then everyone grabbed their phone as usual.
Half way into the journey, it seems like stomach acid levels increased and we unpacked the delicacies and started eating while enjoying that music that the driver was blessing us with.
It was still slow and steady ride, eating food and all of a sudden a loud sound and glasses splashed everywhere were, food ruined!
For a second a couldn't figure out what just happened because we didn't collide with any car.
I turned to check how my cousins is faring while still trying to figure out what happened. Gosh! She was bleeding!
In my mind, this is supposed to be me but we changed. Thank goodness her wig reduced the glass splash on like me that had no wig
It was a heavy truck that had its big iron lose from one of the joint and hit directly on the glass were my cousins was sitting.
We managed the bleeding and while we continued as we are almost closed. Rushed her to hospital, had the places sutured 🪡 and ear syringing was done to remove the pieces of glasses that entered her ears even with the wig that covered it. This just to tell you the extent of the iron impact.
At the hospital I started feeling dizzy as a result of the stress and hunger because the food was ruined and no time to look for food. About lossing my balance, I was held ASAP and made to sit. Everywhere was spinning and the only thing I could remember is a rush to get a drink and food.
We all survived that August 8, 2016 and it was a testimony. Sometimes we frown at things that wanted to save us. Sometimes we are in a haste and not let go of that trap that will destroy.
The mark is still there but she is glowing and happily married.
This is telling you, don't be angry when you couldn't make that journey. When you miss that flight or bus don't hit yourself too hard. Things happen for a reason and it might be one of those days that you are to be saved.
Day 7 of 90 days challenge! Showing up and interacting directly from timelines.
What part of the story got you ?
