ALT Five Essential Study Tips for the ACT Test
1. Build a Study Plan - Make your study plan specific and realistic—look at your weekly schedule and set off reasonable blocks of study time. Try to start studying three months before test day.
2. Start with Your Strengths - Build up your confidence for the tough stuff. Remember to keep a growth mindset, so instead of saying "I'm not good at this." practice saying, "I’m not good at this yet."
3. Use Test-Like Practice - Practice with real test questions using the free ACT practice test. Always review the explanations when you get one wrong.
4. Make Mistakes- Embrace your mistakes along the way. That’s where the real learning happens. It's far better to make them during practice then on test day.
5. Test-Taking Strategies
Have some test-taking strategies ready for test day:
- Answer every question.
-Triage the questions and passages.
- Eliminate wrong answer choices.
