🚨 @roundrock’s Skyline Ambitions: A Double-Edged Sword? 🚨
Round Rock City Council approved major zoning updates, paving the way for taller buildings - up to 12 stories near I-35 and 8 along key streets - to boost density and economic vibe. Officials tout this as revitalizing downtown while preserving our small-town charm and historic core.
Let’s be real: These changes expand downtown boundaries and invite high-rises reminiscent of Austin’s towering skyline, potentially overshadowing (literally) the low-rise, pedestrian-friendly historic district we’ve cherished. Projects like The District, with 15-story offices on the horizon, signal a shift toward urban sprawl over suburban soul.
Is this growth or gentrification in disguise? Residents, weigh in - will RR lose its heart to become Austin 2.0? #RoundRockTX#TexasDevelopment#PreserveHistoricRR
