#ThrowbackProject 🤩 Throwback to when we collaborated with @intel, @Global_MRM and fashion designer Christian Joy to design a wearable technology that would elevate the performance of the American indie rock band the Yeah Yeah Yeahs! Using the latest sound analysis technology, we created the LED jacket, mapping amplitude to the brightness of the LEDs, and frequency to individual diodes. The lights were powered by a portable battery through a custom-designed PCB sewn directly onto fabric. The end result was an integrated system of hardware and software that could be remotely controlled via an Intel-based smartphone and wearable for a rockstar performance! 🤘 #ArtAndTechnology #Art #Tech #Innovative #Design #Fashion #Interactive #FashionTech #Wearables #WearableTechnology #Lighting #LED #FYP

#ThrowbackProject “What object would you like archeologists 1000 years from now to remember our present day culture by?” In 2017, we took part in a project called Future Relics organised by Google Arts and Culture in Mumbai, India. The goal was to create artefacts that represent our current culture for future generations to discover. Participants were asked to write three words they believed best captured something they cared deeply about.  Each of the responses were written by hand on tablets, and by using Google's handwriting API and then translation API we built a database out of the thousands of contributions. Each hand written word was captured and became a textured shard of a 3D vase presented in a digital landscape of artefacts. At the end of the project, a collection of vases inspired by the project were 3D printed and finished by local artisans and donated to the Mumbai Museum of Art. Hirsch & Mann created the end to end journey - from the curated view of all the ancient pottery that had been created, to the tablet applications that welcomed visitor contributions in any language. Participants were offered to have their artworks with their own words etched into the 3D vase emailed to them as a keepsake. #ThrowbackProject when @WeillCornell opened their research facility in New York, we worked with @squintopera to produce a dynamic art piece for their new frontage - designed to celebrate the college’s research and to acknowledge and thank the college’s fellows and donors.
