#TodayInOpenSource This issue is a critical one!!1! Let me just ping 11 people who aren't even associated with the project, because why not!
ALT GitHub comment thread:
Hey guys, this issue is a critical one!😥
Facing it right now in the pytest-bdd==7.0.1 version as well!
Wondering why it is not being tracked actively right now! 🤔

[@lrowe] it would be helpful for me (and maybe others) if you could be specific about why you are mentioning us all here. Personally, I've not done much Python for a while. If there is some specific code or a bug report I've written or commented on that is relevant I can try and understand what this is about but otherwise I'm just confused why I'm included here.

[@the-compiler] Please don't ping random people in open source projects. Maintainers usually do a lot of work in their free time, and what you're doing is a great way to either confuse people (see above); or annoy them and slowly burn people out. If someone wants to be notified about comments
🏎️ Last night, I fixed a segmentation fault bug in my #Python testing library time-machine.
🤷 There were several outstanding issues about segmentation faults with unclear causes, and I didn’t have time to dive into them.

It’s time this became the new norm in #TodayInOpenSource
Like if you agree. Or better yet, join @polar_sh and let’s make it happen together - give me shit, feedback & suggestions until we do ☺️
Updating my book’s ESLint section and found Google’s popular config package (400k weekly downloads) is archived on GitHub without announcement or a release with deprecated status. Makes it hard for users to find out and maybe discuss a fork.

#TodayInOpenSource gotta love some constructive feedback after a #qutebrowser release, especially when the person in question clearly understands what they're talking about!!1!
ALT qutebrowser crash report email, empty other than the following text in the "contact" field:
CANNOT VERIFY INTEGRITY OF RELEASED CODE = SECURITY ISSUE
GPG ISSUE where your damn keys can't verify releases
solution: stop masturbating to PGP and include sha256 keys with the releases
if addicted to PGP at least make it so you don't have to go on a jungle expedition to attempt to somehow retrieve some key which is stored somewhere somewhere who knows where
fuck pgp
#TodayInOpenSource yet another very useful crash report.
Maybe I should do what they tell me to, because there's indeed more noise than I'd like. There's a certain irony there...
Looks like the concept of a human actually reading crash reports is unfathomable for those people.

#TodayInOpensource "now that v3.0.0 has been released there are no more excuses to not look at this [2k line pull request] :)"
Yeah, no. Just because you're oblivious to all the work going on behind the scenes, that doesn't mean you get to tell me what my priorities are.
#TodayInOpensource: Let me spam #qutebrowser crash reports and be a dick in them instead of providing any useful information for the maintainer to reproduce the issue, I'm sure that'll be helpful!!1! (yes, I actually read them, as surprised as that might be for some people)

No, it was not a joke. "Our paying customers need X, when will you fix it?" may not be the best way to introduce yourself to an open source project.

#todayinopensource part two: How dare you to not respond to my follow-up within 6 minutes!!!1!!1!
ALT Github monologue:
<reporter> commented 10 minutes ago
Well, seeing as its quite a problem that even when you disable something, its left enabled (and can be accessed by some sites) that it should be fixed, no?
<reporter> commented 4 minutes ago
Alright well it seems like you're not willing to fix this issue.
I'll be uninstalling QuteBrowser then, as I don't even want to imagine what other options which I set to False are still working, and accessible to sites.
Have a good day.
(me: thumbs-up reaction)
#todayinopensource How dare you to not respond to my question about a totally unrelated project within 5 hours!
ALT GitHub conversation:
The-Compiler closed this as not planned 5 hours ago
<reporter> commented 5 hours ago
Then how is CreepJS accessing that information?
<reporter> commented 5 hours ago
Adding disable-webgl to the c.qt.args in the config.py file doesn't work either
<reporter> commented 8 minutes ago
So that's it? No response?
The-Compiler commented 4 minutes ago
With that attitude, definitely not. Go take that somewhere else, or ideally, nowhere.
User: asks 6 times to do a phone call.
Me: says no 6 times. Provides help and a patch on Gitter.
User: "my issue is not solved after 12 hours and you won't do a call, you're an idiot and your docs are trash"
