This year’s theme of the Nyeri Tourism Festival was Sustainable Tourism through Culture and Creativity and Nyeri has beautifully demonstrated how tradition and modernity can fuse to create a premier tourism marketplace.
While our iconic wildlife remains a global magnet, today’s travelers increasingly hunger for the immersive, authentic cultural experiences that events like this so richly provide. The creative economy is a powerful frontier for youth and women's employment.
By marrying heritage with enterprise, these talented exhibitors and the brilliant contestants of the Mr. & Miss Tourism Nyeri County pageant are turning authentic storytelling into viable livelihoods.
As a Ministry, we remain committed to collaborating with county governments to strengthen this cultural tourism value chain. At the same time, we are reminded that sustainable tourism goes hand-in-hand with environmental stewardship. Protecting our intangible culture means guarding the natural wonders that cradle it.
Thank you, Governor Kahiga and the great people of Nyeri, for your warm reception. God bless Nyeri County.
