Current Status: The university will reopen Monday, Feb. 9.
SAFETY
We continue to focus on safety as our top priority with our crews having focused on academic buildings, housing areas and main thoroughfares to ensure these high-traffic spaces are ready for our community’s return on Monday. As you return, you’ll notice debris piles and ongoing cleanup work across campus. We ask that you please be patient and mindful of posted closures and work zones as this work is expected to continue over the coming weeks.
Below are current updates and guidance on roads and work areas in order to help our crews continue revitalizing the campus safely and efficiently. These updates will change as work progresses.
- -The South Campus Rail Trails remain closed for ongoing debris removal.
- Rowan Oak and its grounds, including Bailey Woods Trail, are temporarily closed for tree pruning and debris removal operations.
- The Circle will only be available to ADA and reserved permit holders.
- You will see barricades and an increased presence of campus law enforcement and security. Please be respectful and follow their directions.
- Parking spaces along the Grove side of University Ave. between the welcome center and Ventress Hall will not be available.
- The Campus Walk Trail between Campus Walk Apartments and campus is open, and you are encouraged to use caution and avoid debris piles. If needed, consider using the Hathorn route OUT bus services, which goes from Campus Walk to Campus Creek to Observatory.
- Due to ongoing debris removal, additional temporary closures will be needed including parking lots or other areas.
- Parking lot permit holders in any areas that need to be temporarily closed will be given 48-hour notice as well as alternative parking locations.
- To help give our recovery teams the space they need to work safely and diligently, campus members are encouraged to utilize OUT buses (download the TransLoc app) or consider carpooling.
