Today is World Environment Day. And the theme? "Now for Climate." As the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), through its Directorate of Environmental Protection & Control (EPC), join the global call to action, we must highlight one specific issue: PLASTIC POLLUTION. Here's what many of us don't realise. Plastic isn't just an eyesore on our streets or in our rivers but a silent contributor to climate change. 99% of plastic is made from fossil fuels, and plastic accounts for about 3.4% of the total global greenhouse gas emissions. From extraction to refining and disposal, plastic adds more heat to our planet. So when we discuss climate action, we must focus on reducing, reusing and recycling plastic. For the Niger Delta, for Nigeria and for the World; now is the time NDDC… Making a Difference #TellingOurStory #Beyond25 #MakingADifference #Transition2Transformation
