Bilaspur Congress Candidate Devendra Yadav
@Devendra_1925 Raises Election Irregularities
Bilaspur Congress candidate Devendra Yadav has accused election authorities of irregularities in the recent elections. Presenting documents, he highlighted significant discrepancies between the district election office's (second randomization report, commissioning, mock poll, actual poll) documents and the Form 17C provided by polling teams (Ballot Units, Control Units, and VVPATs). A total of 611 discrepancies were found, raising doubts about the fairness of the election. Yadav has written to the Election Commission demanding an investigation into the matter.
Devendra Yadav presented documents showing discrepancies in eight assembly constituencies under the Bilaspur Lok Sabha constituency: Kota, Takhatpur, Bilha, Bilaspur, Beltara, Masturi, Lormi, and Mungeli. The documents related to Ballot Units, Control Units, and VVPATs provided by the district election officer and Form 17C provided by 2,251 polling stations were found to be inconsistent. A total of 611 discrepancies were identified.
Specifically, in the documents provided by the district election officers of Bilaspur and Mungeli regarding commissioning, mock poll, and actual poll, 98 Ballot Units showed discrepancies. Polling teams found discrepancies in the alphanumeric numbers printed on 206 Ballot Units used in both districts. Additionally, 28 Ballot Units had incomplete numbers, and the numbers were not mentioned in Form 17C. For 41 Ballot Units, the printed numbers were not properly recorded.
Furthermore, 31 Control Units had discrepancies in their numbers, with 10 Control Units having incomplete numbers. Each machine should have 10 alphanumeric numbers, but Form 17C did not uniformly record these numbers. Additionally, 19 VVPATs were missing numbers in Form 17C, with three machines having incomplete numbers and six machines showing differing alphanumeric and numerical numbers.
Here are some specific details of the discrepancies:
- Bilaspur: 42 out of 228 polling stations found discrepancies.
- Beltara: 44 out of 250 polling stations found discrepancies.
- Kota: 63 out of 267 polling stations found discrepancies.
- Bilha: 33 out of 318 polling stations found discrepancies.
- Masturi: 66 out of 334 polling stations found discrepancies.
- Lormi: 51 out of 262 polling stations found discrepancies.
- Mungeli: 53 out of 279 polling stations found discrepancies.
- Takhatpur: 41 out of 287 polling stations found discrepancies.
These irregularities highlight serious concerns about the integrity of the election process. Immediate action and a thorough investigation are needed to ensure fair and transparent elections.
