With
@TheUFL training camps officially underway, I thought revisiting the
#UFLDraft would be interesting to see how many of those players remained on the teams and re-rank the 2026 UFL Draft.
For the UFL Draft retention ranking, I weighted the QB selections, Regional Allocations, and Protected Players a slightly higher than the UFL and Free agent draft player pool. With low total losses as a key tiebreaker for evaluation success.
1.)
@UFLStorm Retention king. Protected only six veterans (lost Jashaun Corbin) but suffered just four total losses league-wide (0 UFL Draft, 3 Free Agent Draft). Elite scouting. Prioritizing new camp competition over player protection will be something to watch.
2.)
@UFLRenegades Model Efficiency. Zero QB losses, one regional ding (Keondre Colburn), perfect 12/12 protected kept, and only nine total losses. Being based out of Arlington and having significantly less travel probably helps their case when drafting.
3.)
@UFLAviators Rock-solid core. Perfect 12/12 protected retained, zero regional losses, one QB loss (Clayton Tune), and 11 total losses. Balanced veteran security and competition built a dependable foundation.
4.)
@UFLGamblers Quietly solid. No QB or regional losses, 11/12 protected kept (lost Damon Arnette), 12 total losses. Clean priorities and minimal disruption place them firmly in the upper tier.
5.)
@UFLDefenders With a strong 2025 roster base intact, its 16 total draft losses are offset by some home-run hits in every phase. Perfect QB/regional retention, 11/12 protected kept (lost Andre Mintze), 16 total losses (mostly late round swings other than Mintze).
6.)
@UFLKings Priorities perfect: zero QB/regional losses, 12/12 protected kept. But league-high 18 total losses (heavy depth cuts) mean more churn than those above. Core remains elite.
7.)
@UFLStallions Multiple highly-drafted players move on. 11/12 protected retained (lost Ronnie Perkins), lost their top pick in Steven Gonzalez, zero regional losses, one QB loss (Jarren Hall), 14 total losses. O-line depth will be key to watch.
8.)
@BattlehawksUFL Noticeable hits: one QB loss (Michael Pratt), one protected departure (Myles Jones), 15 total losses. Only protected 10 players. Weighted dings on priorities leave them trailing.
The 2026 draft delivered strong continuity league-wide, especially on protected and regional pieces. Orlando's low-churn dominance leads, with Dallas, Columbus, and Houston forming a tight, high-quality top four.
