went to USMAPS w/ Matt. Met Pat when he was a fresh grad, the again at Campbell when he was a TOW PL. I think I've run into him at every rank he's held in the Army. He's the dude who should be getting looked at for CSA, not the ghoul in the running.

I think I might have toed the line between insubordination and clever most of the time. I'd fuck up but then do something really good.
Odd example but I figured out how to replace the tracks on our Trailblazer in about 10 minutes. Everyone else took all day.
But I was also the guy who crawled out on the ledge of our barracks and stole back my Double Stuff Oreos that had been confiscated.
I built a sled with wheels to put the oil collection bucket on so I didn't have to crawl underneath.
But then I'd be the guy who thought it was cool to go out and look for souvenirs with enemy troops around.
Then I'd find an enemy SOI so it wasn't really that stupid.
Or I'd think it was funny to pretend to put out an oil fire with a fire extinguisher.
Or I'd hit the LT in the head with a homemade kite (shelter half, poles, OE254 cable, 6 green socks and a scarf).
Got recommended to USMAPS but left after 4 months because I wanted to party.
Honestly, I was a massive dumbass.

Strom recommended me for USMAPS lol
I remember watching him do a hearing on homosexuality in the military. They had someone from each branch.
Strom: "You know it ain't normal."
Each representative calmly expressed why it was normal, a variation of human sexuality, etc. When they were done, there was a pause that stretched forever. Then, he spoke.
Strom: "But you know it ain't NORMAL."
