#UnityInFaith #Hindu #Sikh #Sikhism #GachubaiVillage #InspiringStory

Prof. John Okumu, Ag. Vice-Chancellor, addressed the gathering during the Interfaith Thanksgiving Prayer Service, describing the service as a sacred tradition that marks the end of another academic year — not merely a break before exams, but a special moment for the university community to come together in worship, prayer, and collective gratitude to God for His guidance through challenges and triumphs. He emphasized the power of unity across diverse faiths and backgrounds, noting that the successes achieved — including welcoming nearly 10,000 new students and graduating thousands — have been possible through collective effort. Speaking directly to students, Prof. Okumu said: “Today we celebrate not just the end of the semester, but the faithfulness of God throughout the year. May gratitude remain our song, may hope remain our strength, and may unity remain our foundation.” He wished students success in the upcoming end-of-semester examinations, urging them to approach their papers with honesty, integrity, and excellence, while rejecting any form of academic malpractice. A heartfelt and encouraging message as the university community prepares for exams and the transition to the next season. 📍 KU Amphitheatre #InterfaithPrayer #ThanksgivingService #KUAmphitheatre #KenyattaUniversity #ProfJohnOkumu #AgViceChancellor #ExamSuccess #AcademicIntegrity #UnityInFaith #Gratitude #KUCommunity

Powerful Message from the Sermon The Psalmist captures the spirit of this gathering with these words: “What shall I render to the Lord for all His benefits toward me? I will take the cup of salvation and call upon the name of the Lord.” (Psalm 116:12-13) Rev. Esther Wainaina reminded us that this is not just a personal question. What shall we render to the Lord? We render worship. We render grateful hearts. We render lives full of thanksgiving. When you honestly look back over your life — answered prayers, dangers avoided, tears wiped away, doors opened, and strength to wake up every morning — what shall we render unto the Lord? In a university like ours, we easily celebrate achievements, graduations, promotions, scholarships, and new opportunities… but today God is calling us deeper — into remembrance. There are battles He fought for us, accidents He prevented, and moments He carried us through without us even realizing. “Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever!” (Psalm 118:1) A beautiful call to gratitude at the Interfaith Thanksgiving Prayer Service. 📍 KU Amphitheatre #InterfaithPrayer #ThanksgivingService #KUAmphitheatre #KenyattaUniversity #RevEstherWainaina #Psalm116 #Psalm118 #GiveThanksToTheLord #Gratitude #UnityInFaith #KUCommunity

A Powerful Message from the Sermon “As I prepared for this service, I remembered a conversation I once had with a student. On the outside, she looked composed, but deep inside she was exhausted. After listening for a while, she quietly confessed: ‘I almost gave up this semester — not because I’m lazy or lack potential, but because life became overwhelming. The academic pressure, financial struggles, family expectations, emotional battles, fear of the future, silent disappointments, and even questions about God… it was too much.’ Many of you here — whether staff or students — can relate to this. But after a long silence, she said something powerful: ‘Somehow, God carried me through.’ You are not alone. God is still carrying His own.” Rev. Esther Wainaina, Protestant Chaplain A touching and honest moment at the Interfaith Thanksgiving Prayer Service. 📍 KU Amphitheatre #InterfaithPrayer #ThanksgivingService #KUAmphitheatre #KenyattaUniversity #StudentStruggles #GodCarriesUs #SermonMoment #RevEstherWainaina #HopeInHardTimes #UnityInFaith #KUCommunity

Inspiring Words from University Leadership “We acknowledge that every achievement, every lesson learned, every challenge overcome, and every opportunity received is part of a bigger journey of growth.” In her brief remarks, Deputy Vice-Chancellor RIO, Prof. Caroline Thoruwa encouraged students preparing for upcoming examinations: “Examinations are not only a test of memory, but also a test of discipline, courage, preparation, and confidence. You have worked hard — attending lectures, completing assignments, participating in discussions, and reading widely. Trust the effort you have invested, and trust that God will bring you through this season. Do not allow fear or anxiety to steal your peace. Approach your exams with confidence, honesty, and integrity.” Powerful encouragement at the Interfaith Thanksgiving Prayer Service! 📍 KU Amphitheatre #InterfaithPrayer #ThanksgivingService #KUAmphitheatre #KenyattaUniversity #ProfCarolineThoruwa #ExamSeason #StudentEncouragement #TrustInGod #UnityInFaith #KUCommunity
