Collaboration is essential to advancing the future of spent nuclear fuel storage and transportation. We’re proud to work alongside the
@ENERGY on the recent transfer of ownership of three dry fuel storage canisters to EPRI, now located at the
@cltepic facility. While containing no nuclear material, the canisters provide an opportunity for nuclear fuel storage research. EPRI also transferred ownership of a dry fuel storage cask, used by EPRI for closure seal research and operational scenario planning, to DOE. The cask will now support transport equipment testing and loading and unloading operations as part of an ongoing joint project. Together, this work reflects a shared commitment to research, innovation, and long-term solutions for the nuclear industry.
