In cryptocurrency terms: Market Cap is circulating supply while FDV is what we call valuation in real life. Fully Diluted Valuation (FDV) = the value of a project if all tokens were issued Market Cap = only the circulating supply Let’s say a project has 1k tokens. Only 40 tokens (4%) are circulating. One token trades at $1k Market Cap = 40 × $1k = $40k But FDV (valuation) = 1k × $1k = $1 million That’s how a tiny float can create a gigantic implied valuation. As I’ve said before everyone crypto is speed running finance. Everyone should dabble a little bit just to understand real world implications of liquidity, price, valuations etc. but don’t overdo it. Just enough to understand the world of finance.
