Actually I think BOM is the most important thing in the modern world.
It sets price. Lead time. Quality. Risk. It moves inflation.
It shapes military & defence. You can only defend what you can build. If it is not in your BOM or you cannot make it, you do not have it.

If you’re new to manufacturing - BOM is the most important thing to learn
BOM = Bill of Materials.
It’s the recipe of any product. Every item qty. Every spec.
It could be multi-levels. Top assembly. Subassemblies. Parts…Consumables etc
It ties to revisions. Suppliers. Costs. Lead times. Quality notes.
If it’s not in the BOM, it doesn’t exist
How to use it: Start at a finished product. Read the BOM. Trace backward. For each line ask who makes it. Where. With what process. How long it takes.
Do this level by level.
That’s basically what supply chain means
Eg:
Electric fan
→ Motor assembly
→ Stator laminations
→ Copper windings
→ Bearings
→ Blade set
→ Polypropylene pellets
→ Injection mold tool
→ Housing
→ ABS pellets
→ PCB
→ Microcontroller
→ MOSFETs
→ Capacitors
→ Screws
→ Labels
→ Carton
Each arrow is a vendor. Each vendor has its own BOM. The nesting is the chain.
Do it in Deskera
Put your BOM in Deskera.
Define items and UOM.
Set revisions.
Map approved vendors.
Enter costs, MOQs and lead times.
Link QC checks to each line.
Use change control for edits.
Roll costs up from the lowest level.
Plan buys from the BOM. Not from vibes.
This is why I tell people to play Factorio. It turns BOM thinking into muscle memory. You set outputs. Map inputs. Balance flows. Watch bottlenecks etc
After a few hours a real BOM will click

India needs its own social revolution. The problem is people confuse social revolution with political power.
Social leaders want to capture the state first. Their social issues are just a path towards political power. Infact there are no real social leaders. Just people vying for power.
A cultural upgrade is far more important than another political movement.
In Japan, the Meiji Restoration did not replace the emperor. The emperor changed through normal succession. What changed was the real power structure around him.
India needs its own Meiji Revolution.
A country learning discipline, quality, exports, technical skill, punctuality, scale and national seriousness. A manufacturing-led social upgrade.
India needs a society that knows how to build. An inclusive cultural revolution that brings all sections together on the lines of what Japan did for its modernization is needed.
Very hard to do - agreed - and examples of Japan, Korea only work because they have a homogenous society is a real challenge.
But its also 2026. They did that in 1800s and 1900s. Maybe the 2000s version of societal cultural upgrade can come from a multicultural multilingual India. We can take cues from Singapore.
