Black-headed Gull 2E72 has arrived back in Otley amongst a flock of twenty on the River Wharfe today. Likely to breed in Yorkshire because it always returns in June. #Chroicocephalus #ridibundus #NWBHGs #GullOfTheDay #VC64 #GullsOfOtley

I cleared out the Nuthatch nest box today after three youngsters fledged yesterday. It transpires that one of the eggs has failed to hatch. #Sittidae #VC64

I spy, with my little eye, a baby Nuthatch! Last year they fledged on this date but usually it is in the last week of May. #Sittidae #VC64

The garden nuthatches are now feeding their young. 😀 Over the last 5 years the young birds have fledged on dates between 20 May and 2nd June. They always leave the nest at dawn so I always miss them. But this year I have set up the trail cam! #Sittidae #VC64

Orange Tip egg on Garlic Mustard at Otley today. This is the first one that I have found this year. I wonder how the resultant larva will interact with the local ants? #VC64 🐛 🐜
